It's a good bye to Google reader

So, it's a good bye to Google Reader on 1st July.

I started using RSS since years ago, I stumble upon Google reader and never look back again. It had been my daily routine to read up some blog posts by others - fashion, photography, technology and such.

The outlook may not be the best, but it is the best reader after all.

When the news struck about the closing down, the first thing I locate online is another reader.

After reading up, using them, checking it... I finally can rest my head and worries.

FeedDemon and Feedly are my two readers from today onwards. Feedly work like cloud base, it can detect what you had read, but navigation is a bit tough for me, but the look is so niche and clean. I have no idea where to locate all the unread and read them individually.

Like I had said, I have no time to locate them yet.

Whereas for FeedDemon, everything was straight forward like Google Reader. I like the interface and the look. It is able to tell me straight at my face on articles that I have not read. It took me less than a min to get used to it.

What say you,  huh.

Nice site. nuffnang

It had been a long time since I was in nuffnang page. I just realised that there are so many cool features!

There's NuffnangX, which allow you to read what sorta blog you preferred. Unlike in the past, you have to manually post it in order to get viewers. Now, it seem like it is auto? Erm... I am not sure of that.

But on top of that, I can see a big changes on their site. The navigation are much cooler and friendly than before. It took me less than 5min to understand the entire flow. Now, this is what I call end user feedback.

By having it so sophisticated, it might look nice in a wrong way. It can be so difficult to use, and at the end of the day, you lose your customer.

I had just claim the blog of this, photography and parenting to NuffnangX.

Oh yea, I had just set up my photography blog , which I will tell you everything about the tips on photography, audio and video. I may not be a real guru, but I am willing to share with you.

Apart from that, I will want to share what are the wrong move I had took for my career. I am literally learning by myself, with a little help from here and there.

Tough, but I like this kinda challenge.

I know I will make it.

Time is 12mn, and I am still working hard. Delivery of work on time or earlier is a good thing, Client will love you more, but it depend on what sorta situation it is going to be. Stay firm and be more up front; I tend to lose out on that.



Let me think of some post to write and share soon... I shall revive this boring blog tho. Ha!

I wonder...

I have no time to blog as like before, same goes for the kids entries.

Busy is the only word I can say now. After turning full time and work for myself, there are a lot of commitment I need to do, and it is all by myself. Glad that my wife is helping too.

Being an own boss is not a bad idea, depending on which way you want to look at. There are a lot of ideas we can do, but with limitation. There's no shortcut to every path; by working hard might not even bring you what you want.

Importantly, play smart is the key word to survive.

Think business first, creative will come after that. Without business, you will face lots of problem; without creativity, you cannot win the clients over (maybe a little). Which is important?

Let's all be truthful to ourselves... what is it we should look at.


Maybe I should kill this blog and restart all over again... rubbish, I will say. =)

Going on

Going on strong, going on hard.

I had decided to use the name: pboong, as my photography.

Why pboong?
Because of my name. P. Boon Ong. With the combination, I decided to have it as pboong, announce as Boon or Pong. just to make it real simple.

Life is short, we should grab the chance if there's any. Should it fail, at least tell myself, I done it before. Of course, I must stay positive and be more optimistic.

The decision made bring myself a smile on face. Now, what's next? I have 2 weeks left to get it done, need to be fast and time must not be wasted at all.

In my mind

The road ahead is going to be very tough, but I must stay optimistic and perseverance no matter what.

The decision made is not easy at all, but at least I know what I know in life. Should it turn out bad, I hope the alternate path is shining on.

Right now, I am happy what is going on. The future still remain in black, but I'm sure, damn real sure that the light is gradually turning on.

As I promised myself

Finally... as I promised before... although it is a little late.

I had the site up, although information may not be sufficient, but it is worth of every hard work spent.

And I had my computer formatted - both C and D drives.

Next will be installation of programs, and housekeeping for all documents and media. I might need to move/ delete some items from external HD in order to accommodate other media files.

The feeling of clearing up the items and doing house keeping made me very happy. At least, I can start everything afresh; just like my career.

I intend to do some full time freelance photographer now. Thus, if you require photographer for any event, please do email me for quotation.

My career will change for the better luck, and I believe the decision is on the right track.

My mind been made up

My final stand

I have decided something in my mind. That will be a good bye.

Not because of stress, but the liking of work.

IMHO, everyone can handle any stress; when facing the something that you have no interest at all, you bound to have more stress and lost interest at work.

It is might not be the work, but the management that give, but did not hold. In the end, it burst like a balloon whereby it does not affect just one, but the rest of it which are clustered together.

Making plans ahead and I strongly believe I made a right move. The white letter is going to the in charge anytime soon. With that, I am surprised that the white letter is clustered as well, but in a slow movement.

Yah yah yah... I know...

I am truly upset with people who did not find out the reason properly before they start slamming you down right into the drain.

Being a nice guy for too long, it is time for reliatation. I did not sound out doesn't mean I am a sick cat. Before a person can continue with bull shitting and giving long winded story, why not get into business by having it rectify, since the time is running short as claimed?

Initative - everyone love to have that. But, without a proper guidance, things might not turn out as it is at the end of the day. Rather than having it go wrong and get into deeper, rectify fast and make sure there's no redo.

Who does not want the thing to go smooth without any problem?

Anyway, cut the crap out of it.

Everyone is down and kept falling sick. Please do take care and make sure everyone drink more water!

The new start!

I am thinking of moving some of the information out from this blog as not to overlap my personal thoughts and selling of service.

I am currently thinking of the new name for the next Wordpress site.

Most probably, by closing down my www.pboong.com site will be a better choice since I am currently tied down by my work, a heavy one.

Starting from next month, I will move the selling of Torco oil information from this blog; along with my photography service to a much-and-less-messy blog.

I would like to concentrate on my A Weekend A Photo over this blog still.

There will not be a major change, since I am pretty lazy (timing is one factor).

Do stay tuned on the discount of torco oil soon! A sale that celebrate my moving of new blog and also, my daughter's birthday. A great celebration! Hurray! Details will be out soon.

Dragon Year - A Good Start?

Hope everyone will have a good start this year; the year of dragon.

For those who did not know, Year of Dragon will be counted when it is the day of Li Chun; usually after Chu Jiu (Lunar Day - 9th Day)

So, still counted as rabbit year, I did have some cash going out suddenly.

I have have my camera lenses sent out for servicing because of Error 01 code. As told by the CSO today, it is usually a wear and tear problem. Had been using for years since I last bought it.

At the same time, I had my  camera body clean up and upgrading of firmware.

Total damage: $226.

Next: my Seiko watch, which my wife bought it for me; the name of the Seiko wording drop and hang there! Luckily there's warranty, I really hope that there's no charges for this. I might need to wait up till a month for this case!

Next, my LCD TV seem to have problem turning on... it will not start up until few mins later... or kept on going back to standby mode....

Last but not least, my car leather seat... all cracking and torn!

Let's hope it all end here! Hoping this are the cause by the year of rabbit!

Heavy minded now...

Finding out the reason why can be interesting if the information is there. But when it is not, kinda finding a needle in the sea.

Where's the help when I need? It seem like throwing one corner and ask you to survive throughout. It is no wonder, people come and go.

Typically, I can handle things well.. but right now, due to heavy load on my back, it seem like it is nearly impossible for that to happen. Prepare to get whack for not finding out anytime soon. I am glad I know how everything goes, but I really hope it is not too late.

I still have to recheck if possible. But, I really hope that someone can be there to help me through.

As I neglect the other side and concentrate here, it is going to be very unhealthy.

In short, I am just worried for the lack of stuff that should found out earlier.

This is the first time ever I feel so tense over this Chinese New Year. Sigh... Please... I hope to see some light...

Do it ourselves

Although our helper decided to return to her hometown, things does not change at all. Luckily kids are well taken care by my parents and my wife, including me. The only burden will be: laundry and household chores.

I find that I clean the floor cleaner than her tho. Touched onto the floor, the feeling is so much different from the past. It is pretty dry and very clean. I am so happy for myself.

But this will means that I have lesser time in front of the computer because of housework. If I have to work on it, the time will be about midnight after the floor is clean. 

Definitely, all of us will feel tired and shag; but this also bring some family bonding; exercising as well. I am certain that I will reduce some weights as time goes. But I have to take good care of my lower back as it get tense and tiring very soon. 

No matter what, I hope to do my own things whenever there's time for me. 

There are couples of problem that I have to solve it, but I hope to gain some advise to remedy it.

Accomplishing the task I made for

I have not go out and take photos for a long time, hence the missing 2 weekend a photo.
Maybe, I should not stick to weekend only... It should be A Week A Photo... =)

Work is getting heavier, but feel self satisfy too. At least something useful that I am doing now, but heavy responsibilities too.

I must try to accomplish what I wanted to do.

Now, I must put up some plan; here goes...

Reformat my computer first, because I have unknown huge capacities of storage in C drive! I wanted to install the programs to D:/ instead.

Buying new sport shoe! For work and also, mild running and brisk walk.

Get my production start up after the formatting of computer first. It does not matter how long I take.

Finish my San Guo DVDs! And, my Single Mode Play on Batman and BF3!

Bring my kids out almost every weekend - be it anywhere! Something that they can explore more!

Do more exercise for my own good and maintain good diet food intake too.


The above... wow.. a lot to accomplish, huh.
Some can be done soon, but I must be discipline too.

I believe I can do it... so can you too!

Ranting time!

I have a new toy, something that I had been holding it back for a long time. Finally, I decided to get it and I really have no regret at all.

The toy had been up since last Sunday, and I shall reveal it later on with some photo. Let's remain mystery now.

It had been a long time since I rant and talk about my thoughts.

Ranting
Life goes on, no matter how tough it is, but I do feel that a person must get the picture clear first before starting to feel piss off and make it as if I am at fault. C'mom.. we are all working adults, do not assume we ain't doing nothing at all. When people are busy and working hard, you do not see it at all.

Injury
Oh dear, I had just injured myself yesterday when walking along the carpark after picking up my daughter. This injury, which I had it before, was 12 years ago - twisted ankle.

I have no idea how it happened, it just goes like that! I can even feel bones seem to fall apart when I twisted my ankle. The pain was terrible, but I am still able to walk tho; but slowly.

Decided to get myself a day of MC today, but due to work required, I started to head back to work till 2pm before seeing the doc and get it tui na.
I was awarded 2 days MC from the western doctor; pain wasn't there after a while, but I still go ahead to Chien Tow, Jurong East.

I have never cried in pain before, but this time round, it proves me wrong totally.

Although I do not feel much pain already, when the masseur pressed on the certain points that really hurts, I cried in pain... tried enduring throughout the session but it is unbearable. At least it proven that I did injured it seriously. Now, having my ankle bandaged, I felt relieved totally.

Remember, you will suffer if you decided not to get it done. Such money is not meant to keep; health is.

Good bye, Steve Jobs

A man that earned the respect from the world, especially the audio, video and design industry. Without Mac, things will not be so complicated.

All the slink design, user friendly OS embrace us to look forward while doing our work.

I am proud to have one of his many products; iPhone and iPad.

The news announced his leaving from this world shocked me when I tuned in to radio station half way of their conversation.

It is quite saddening for an intelligent person to leave so quickly despite his long fighting of cancer. No matter what, he did brought a lot of lights and shine to this world since the first iPhone touch down to this earth.

The new theme look

Give me some times to think about it, should I change this theme to the blogger's?

I login to Blogger and viewed it's dynamic view theme and it really shocked it! It is so nice and beautiful! It is almost the type of blog that I wanted years ago.

Alright, blame and shame on me for not learning on the coding, ok?

Anyway, if you click onto my Parenting Blog, you will see the new look by Blogger and I am so amazed that it look so much neater.

Right now, I am using the sRGB monitor default setting and the whole color look terrific! Why? Why do I have the calibrator tool, and yet the whole photos look a bit off? While viewing, I am so sad that most of the photos are too red! I totally cannot accept my work tho.

I have more to blog, but maybe, later on.

Need and want

There are quite a few things that I really hope to obtain, but this is not going to be 100% accurate.
I may have wants and needs; or even like to have.

These are the things that I really had in my mind.

Need a new spect as spare
Want a new laptop (maybe a Macbook Pro with Win system. But I can use my current old Macbook White)
Want a pioneer 4350 (For iPod and better sound system)
Need a new washing machine
Like to have a new 27" LCD monitor screen
Need a new running shoe
Like to have new earphone (For jogging or brisk walk)
Want to slim down.
Want a overseas trip (family outing)

I cannot seem to list more; pretty weird huh?

Of course, I would like to have all of them, but I have to be realistic that I can only get them if I have enough money first. After all, some are just a dream which may not come true.

But it is good to have such a dream at times, at least we can look forward in our life tho. Heh
