Minimalistic is nice

In the past, we love things to be sophisticated; more things to meddle with is fun. Now, everything goes minimal and yet so easy to control.

Just look at the Google+, Gmail (new look) and blogger. They are one good example among the rest. It is so simple, clean and yet niche than before. Even for the buttons too.

At start, I do take times to get use to it. Suddenly I felt that it is as simple as like using a Mac.

But for Blogger, I do think that they must do something for their coding. It is a bit different from last time, whereby it is pretty easier than now. Other than that, I have no other complains at all.

Recently, everyone had been very busy. That goes for my AWAP project, and my daughter weekly portrait! Nevertheless, just stay tuned.

I need some times to clear all the mountains. Priority will be the photobook which my wife had bought the coupon from groupon.

I also need to rearrange some cabling for my computer table and living room AV system.

Going to be a busy moment for me. Sure!

Late night shopping

The late night shopping is great! Especially for those who are unable to get certain things in the day time due to many reasons. Busy with work, family, studying or blah blah blah...

There, finally the wonderful IT store, Challenger at Funan opening 24hrs daily! Hurray! Yes, although this news is no longer new anymore, but I am so happy all the time until I finally went down with my wife yesterday night!

Finally a 'we' time together.

Ever since my daughter had fallen sick, then to school, then newborn 2nd daughter, then on and on, we never have a good rest ever. It seem so rushing and there's no time to stop and relax. Just like this week, I am sick and I have not start buying my new clothing as I need a change of the entire wardrobe! Yeah, they stink now...

Ok, back to topic..

Carpark after 10pm in Funan is free. There are around 10 cars when I reached the area and gotta be the first time the B1 carpark is quite empty!

Entrance to IT mall is only at the CP escalator. There are quite a number of people in the store and it seem like in the morning tho. I am wondering how it is like at 2am-7am!

But, nevertheless, it is a good place to hangout at. Apart from Mustafa, I now have my favourite store: Challenger. All thanks to my old workplace area, I used to visit there thrice a week and went there since I am in secondary school.

Presenting you my new purchase.

For those who know me well, I'm always lack of HDD space because I have too many data. I prefer to have individual HDD with 1 main things to store. For e.g., Photo drive, media drive, music production and video.

Right now, I need a HDD that can read both PC and Mac platform because I need to transfer some of the data. Therefore, I decided to get Seagate hdd (highly recommended by my friend) with USB3.0. The price difference for USB3.0 between Seagate and Western Digital is $40 (i am the member of challenger) and also having $50 Captialand voucher too. There's also USB2.0 1TB at $159 and upgradeable to USB3.0, but I chose to get the one with USB3.0 confirmed by them.

Midnight Purchase At Challenger, Funan
1TB with USB3.0

E Sata Or USB, Take Your Pic
You can use it to connect using SATA cable.

Seagate Go Flex 1 TB W USB 3.0
Love this portable HDD

Happy with this purchase tho.
Now I can finally transfer data and store some important information now.
Adding as my DVD back up too.

Busy busy busy

I really wonder what I had been busy about recently? Perhaps things like, rushing for client photos, montage, fixing PC, finding maid agency and also meeting up with friends. These really make us very tired tho.

I am glad that I had my new PC rig up recently. The total cost damage is 1.8K from Cybermind, Sim Lim Square.

I know some people will ask me why I go to Choppermind, reason being, I cannot find other shop at that time. And, after deducting the 2% off, the total cost actually bring down by a lot. In fact, it is more or less about the same price to other shop. And, the guy named, Harrison, did provide a good service to me. I am glad and appreciated by all the guides tho.

Appreciate that William, Jien and Hong Jia provide me a lot of valuable information on my new rig.

Guess you must be wondering what is my new rig like?

Here goes:

i7 950
Gigabyte UD3R (1366 pin)
Powercolor HD6870 1Gb PCS+
3 x 2Gb Corsair C7
HX750w Corsair
Thermal Right X RT
Cooler Master 690II Advanced

Also bought 4 more fans on other days to utilise the entire air vent provided.

The only downside:
Side casing fan will produce low frequency sound due to CM design on the air vent.
Wondering if the silent fan will work properly.

As for my old rig, I will pass on my beloved C2Q to my relative! The only changes will be: new HDD with Win 7 Home Premium and perhaps a new casing. The old casing of mine is totally fugly and really can throw in dustbin. Other than that, the system is still behaving well.

I'll talk about more on my next post.
Stay tuned..

It is time for me to rest.

Facing Photoshop CS4 problem

Finally I have the time to load some brushes for Photoshop into my CS4 which I gotten from other site. Anyway, all of them are free tho. Good quality too!

But I am facing some issue on my brushes. When it reach to certain size of the brush diameter, I can only see part of the brush only. According to my friend, it is just a bug and restarting the application will help. I remember doing that before, but no use. It still occur!

Seriously I have no idea why is it like this. I am thinking of getting the education package which cost $99 only. But of course, education package have its own limitation. There will not be any updates at all, if there's CS5 coming up, I have to purchase again.

Even if you have the 'ahem' version, there's no way you can download the patch anyway.

But well.... no complains now except the brush size. I am facing some issue on that and hope I can rectify it ASAP!

Need to bring my HDD home real soon as I need it to do for Sean wedding photos. I have to bring to office due to certain reasons and hoping that I can bring it home later. Ha!

Busy is the word!
