Birthday gift for myself

I cannot deny anymore, I really want a new monitor speaker for a long time.

Look like my wishes came true because my right studio monitor is going to raise white flag! The volume went down ridiculously low, even how much I pumped up the volume and push up the gain knob.

Hence, I am hoping for a nice monitor - Adams A5X. But that will be too costly, even it I can get the staff discount from my company! Our sister company is one of the main distributor for Adams - the wonderful monitor speaker.

But, I had to plan properly. Get a small one and budget type, so that I will not bleed like in the past. Hence, KRK Rokit 5!  I am not a professional user; too high end will be overkill.

I went down for testing in Sinamex - the boss was very patient with me because of requesting different genre of music. I end up chose 1 level up because I am using that as pleasure listening as well.


Good bye to my old monitor speaker that serve me well for the past 5 years.

Right monitor seem to die off as the volume is too low.


On my Birthday, I got myself a new pair of studio monitor. A Brand that I thought I will not get in the past due to bad experience.

Now, I decided to give a go since it is pretty good and known to most people. Best yet, affordable and superb sounding.

My 30th Birthday

I never expect myself to receive any present this year because I had mentioned that I do not want any of them. I also agreed that I am a weirdo who do not like to celebrate my birthday since young. However, this year I am surprised by myself that I obliged to mywife decision on celebrating my 30th Birthday!

I wonder why that I hold no resistance this year. Guess that when one's turn older, you choose not bother so much at all. Let's just all out to enjoy then.

However, I really appreciate upon receiving these gifts unexpectedly.

For those who do not know, my birthday actually falls on 8th Nov, which is tomorrow.
Wifey is nice enough to book a chalet and bbq for lots of people, which is half gathering cum celebration. I am also happy to have my niece celebrating together! Her birthday is also around the corner and of course, I do not feel lonely over in front of the cake.

I am surprised that my wife actually bought this great present! Initially I thought of buying for my parents instead and I prefer other gifts! However, this prove me wrong. I am the only one in the house who had been using this day and night.

Now my backache and foot are so comfortable now! This unexpected gift is great!

Off to Boss house for the first time!

Everyone was invited to boss house last night after work for a dinner cum Loh Hei session. Sorry, as I was participating in that session, I didn't capture any of them. I am quite (too) shy to take my camera out as well. Bad huh?

Nevertheless, I feel comfortable with the rest of the colleagues from last night. Simple chat and jokes indeed make the communication even better.

There are only 2 who are not able to make it for the dinner, so it is quite a pity tho.

This gonna be the first time I go up to boss house tho. Apart from colleagues's house , do you think you will go up to boss residence if he never invite? Well, the feeling is comfortable and interesting. I truly enjoy myself tho.

Our anniversary gifts

Our 2nd yr anniversary is around the corner and these are we gave to each other! Step by step revealing the gifts... sweet!

The gift to her is suppose to pass or surprise her on Tuesday Morning when she wake up. I intend to have the bag place beside her when she is still sound asleep until she open her eyes. But looking at wifey is feeling a bit down and she also bought the gift for me, I decided to give it to her on that very Wednesday night before going to sleep.

Again, I put the paper bag on bed. Apparently, she did not go to the room until she is feeling tired. She was surprised to see something white on bed and quickly turn on the light and the word Coach reveal.

Though I cannot afford much for a LV or Gucci or even Burberrys, I am still happy to see her delighted look on her face. The next gift will be good and do let me save up! Ha!

Since I am a person who want a lot of things, but most of it are not really affordable, wifey intend to let me choose without been surprised. Anyway, she did surprised me by buying a Ring Flash but I insisted to pay for myself as it is what I wanted for my own and preferred to come out from my wallet instead.

And my buddy, Ray, need to get a good and cheap soundcard as well, so I offered my 6 years old M-Audio Delta 66 series to him at the minimal cost and even come with Midisport man 2x2. It is because of that which does not allow me to use my MIDI! If not, I can save up instead of buying!

To be frank, it is still worthwhile buying the new soundcard as I needed the on-board volume control for both monitor speaker and headphone respectively. Furthermore, it come with built-in MIDI as well.
So I make a trip down to Team108 and visited Joel, the sales engineer. He is a truly friendly guy I ever met and being very patience to all my questions.


Since my PC do not come with Firewire port, I have to make a trip down to get this PCI Firewire card for my Saffire 24Pro

Till now, I am still unable to use this beast because there's an issue for Firewire card. It need me to use Firewire Legacy but after updating the hardware, it appear that it is up to date and no legacy option for me to select. That's one of my most headache issue now. Hoping Focusrite sales support can get back to me as soon as possible.

Back to the memories 2

Like I said, every end of great mission, there must be a celebration involve! Thanks to CPT Steve Luo, whom make it happened in CQU!

Although this time are not as siong as we thought, but everyone shared the same focus. Finish 'em and that's it! That must be the way for us been in this unit. We are the elite in CSS, things we done are not as open to the others. We specialise in stuff that no one else can take over. We do what we are suppose to do and be 100% sure, and that's why the motto "Be Sure Always" is always in our heart and mind.

Mission and EX ends with a good BBQ moment along with other company commanders. We do have fun, laughter and of course... memorable!

That night was one of the best moment of all. Everyone was extremely happy and 50% of the guys were drunk. Some went for soccer session after drinking and after 20min, OC puked and went back to collapse.

Staff Yip (NDU) kept wanted to drunk me but I cannot carry on due to my stomach is too full! Nope, I am still awake and not even drunk yet. Just a little high on side, feeling light.

Staff Hoon (NDU) was quite 'onz' and took 2 cups of white wine! But we never knew he cannot take it. I do not know how much he drank, I did saw him vomiting into the basin in the toilet when I am resting in the common area. Next moment, he was found sleeping in the cubicle with the door locked. I even went to knock the door and verify if it is him, he assured to me that he is fine. The funniest thing was, before he start drinking with us, he went back to get his laundry done and even bathed! Appluase!

Our PC was extremely drunk until he knock out immediately when he reached the room. Amazingly, he woke up at 1am to pack his stuff as we have to move out the next day!

NSF Meng Hong had mixed drink and had his face swollen big time. Been told that he was alright when he drank last time but non mix drink.

Poor medic had to take good care of everyone, so he cannot drink too much.

Sam, Andy, Victor, Wen Chong and Jack did not drink too much also.

Larry and Sam had fun together as they stay next to each other. While Sam was disturbing Larry, he went to Sam room to tickle and disturb him big time. He kept turning on and off the light and starting saying:"Disco... disco .... disco..." I was laughing like mad as both of them are so clown! Only 3 of us were awake that time tho.

I admitted that I am a bit drunk so I thought I will be sleeping well! I am wrong! Instead, I kept blurping and halfway while sleeping, I sit up right and suddenly I vomited in my mouth! Thought that the toilet is quite far, lazy, and giddy... I swallowed back and went back to sleep!

Shucks, SHINGZ! How yucky it can be!!! Puiz!
