New Gift - Intuos 5

IMG_20120714_174021
Would like to thanks my wife for giving me such a big present for my work!

It really help me a lot on the photoshop I am using now. Just turn on the review, you will know why Intuos 5 rocks.

I cannot imagine using graphire before, and to mouse. It is pretty pain in da ass because my wrist ache after a long period of usage.

Oh yes, this Intuos 5 size is medium, and I am happy that my wife bought the wireless kit for me too! No more cabling!

The next step is to get myself a new USB hub, there are too many cables dangling around, and it is pretty annoying.

I shall update more on other stuff real soon, stay tuned.

Last but not least, thanks my darling baby for the gift. Love you always.

Loving what I do

It had been a long time since I last sat down in front of my computer doing some work - photos related.

I felt happier doing things that I like/ love a lot, despite losing of sleep tho. I guessed that goes to lots of people out there as well.

Although this is not a paid job, I felt rather relieve helping out doing the photo montage for my coll, whom is going to get marry in a week time. Yes, now then he ask me for help. But of course, taking this as a wedding gift to him since I am unable to attend his wedding at KL, Malaysia.

Most of the colls from the site office will be heading up! Look like there will not be anyone in the office on the following Monday. Good grief!

Anyway, I am unable to finish the task due to lack of certain requirement which I will continue tomorrow. This is interesting, he was asked to place 2 songs on his photo montage; typically in Singapore, we use 1 song unless client requested.

So, anyone who want to do photo montage for their loves one; wedding, kids or any other matters, feel free drop me an email: boon[at]pboong[dot]com

I will be more than happy to do photo montage for you.

Cheers

Minimalistic is nice

In the past, we love things to be sophisticated; more things to meddle with is fun. Now, everything goes minimal and yet so easy to control.

Just look at the Google+, Gmail (new look) and blogger. They are one good example among the rest. It is so simple, clean and yet niche than before. Even for the buttons too.

At start, I do take times to get use to it. Suddenly I felt that it is as simple as like using a Mac.

But for Blogger, I do think that they must do something for their coding. It is a bit different from last time, whereby it is pretty easier than now. Other than that, I have no other complains at all.

Recently, everyone had been very busy. That goes for my AWAP project, and my daughter weekly portrait! Nevertheless, just stay tuned.

I need some times to clear all the mountains. Priority will be the photobook which my wife had bought the coupon from groupon.

I also need to rearrange some cabling for my computer table and living room AV system.

Going to be a busy moment for me. Sure!

PS3 Wireless Headset

Finally the wait is over and it hit the shore the day before yesterday!

Every PS3 game lover are dying to get this headset since the announcement for the launch. To make things easier, I shall explain it and yet, short.

Every gamer wanted to listen the sound from the game, and yet, still want to talk to their game mate during multiplayer mode session. In the past, you can only talk via bluetooth without any sound at all, but for this, it is a all in one technology!

It finally break its way through and convince all of us to get it as soon as possible.

Now that it just hit the shore, everyone will be calling or visiting the shop regards to this headset! Time to get busy!

After knowing my friend got the headset when I read it in forum, I am so happy that it is in stock now. So, I went down to the shop at Clementi for more information; but the girl said that it will come only in the evening time! I was so happy about it and quickly put down my name for booking!

Time is ticking until I had the missed call. When the lady picked up the phone and I was happy to hear that it is from the game shop! And she said that the headset is in store now, so I went down immediately to purchase it!

I explained to the lady about the usage for this headset and she was glad to get more information why we, the gamers, are waiting for this headset.

The entire look from this headset is beautiful, cushion is comfortable when playing game. But be prepared to feel hot later on because it is used to cover your ear.

For headphone user, you will not feel comfortable at all because you have already gotten used to it. Whereas for those non hp user, you require more times to get used to it.

Best yet, it is a close can; the people beside you will not be affected at all. Great to use this and play game at night. Especially when wife or kids are asleep. It is even better than turning on the entire system, but you might not get the real sound due to soft volume.

The headset may seen to be big, but it is pretty light when held by your palm.

Every controls are on the left, whereby you will need just left hand to do all the jobs while the right one still can hold on the controller.

It is a pretty easy to use device. And, you do not required to use the syncing method.

Just plug in bluetooth receiver on PS3, tap and hold on the left side of the headset for 1 sec, the set is turned on follow by a sound heard. The receiver on the PS3 will light up with a blue light.

Any changes made on the set, the small window on the top right, will be shown on the TV screen.

Ta dah! PS3 wireless headset! Volume can be found on the left (shown on pic: right). Front is for the volume balance while the back; the master.

IMG_3572
There's a sound and voice located at this area. (Front of the left)

Notice that there's a fader that you can slide it up or down, which you can balance the audio or the voice (chat) during the mulitplayer session.

This is a good idea for some people who prefer to have either more chat volume or the sound from the game.

IMG_3573
For the volume control here, this is the master volume from min to max. (Back of the left)

Allowing the preferred audio you had just balance infront, this is to increase the overall sound.

IMG_3576
The top look of the headset.
It seem to be aluminum; this bring the entire look of the headset to be more futuristic, better than those funky type of look.

IMG_3577
The cushion for the head rest.

IMG_3578
You can choose to deactivate the virtual surround when playing the game.

The icon on the tv will show you which mode you are in; the circle look alike of the headphone means the virtual surround had been turn on.

IMG_3579
This is where you turn on or off the headset by pressing it and hold for 1 sec.

With a tap onto it, the mic will be either turn on or off. Again, the mic icon with a cross shown on the TV means it had been mute.

Conclusion

Overall, the built is good and it is not as flimsy as I thought. You might need to take good care of it. The charging can be used by any USB cable to your adapter. (iPhone charger is the best bet)

For the information about the usage on PC, it might not works for all. Do a trial and error, or borrow from friends first, if they allow you to.

I just used this in the morning when playing BC2 and all I can say, well done. I finally allow myself to hear all the conversations in the game, as well as the bullet shells dropping on the floor! Explosion is wonderful too, you can hear it as if you are in the battle field too.

But, do bear it in mind that, this is just a virtual surround. This cannot be compared to the TRUE surround whereby you have the rear left and right speaker behind you. What I am suspecting for the RL and RR, they might have it panned hard, so that it sound like in the back.

If you hate it so much, turn it off!

You are encourage to blast all the way through, but remember to notice your environment too. Especially the daddies club gamers.

I have yet to try the conversation using the mic. But my friend, who is using this last night, spoke very clearly in my headset. At least you need not to worry about the breaking connection or weak response.

Everything is good.

And, goodbye to bluetooth ear piece!

Focal information for you

Source from Peta Pixel

I guess this piece of information is suitable for people who just started photography and also to understand the meaning of the focal length as well.

Shouldn't we all applause to the person who did such a wonderful information?

Interesting art that been deconstructed

Adventure Series - Exposed from Dave Hill on Vimeo.
One of my favorite photographer, Dave Hill, showing different layers of the photo he did on his shot.

Quite interesting that he deconstruct everything and revealed to everyone. Though it is not surprise to have different photos piece them together, but it is an eye opener who do not know anything at all. Don't you think so?

Know it better

Initially while viewing my twitter yesterday, which is posted by my friend regarding to the so-called Lady Gaga music for the NDP, I thought it is nothing serious until I flipped the newspaper this morning.

Oh my god; as I told myself. Shouldn't they know it better?

While I can agreed that the music is nice, but I truly cannot accept the lyrics! Moreover, the change of lyric for this song is unacceptable unless they get the approval from the record company, or pay up the fees, right?

To me, they should know that editing or whatsoever to the song require copyrights approval, especially the record companies. If not, is that call infringing of copyrights instead?

I learn about these during school days and my previous job; not easy to understand all of them. When you come to that, there are a lot of illegally things we are doing now, by right.

Here's the video:
the author of the video had the embedded removed. Do so by clicking the link instead.

Just 10min a long, I tuned in to the music video and have to say... sorry... the music is nice but not the music. I rather have Kit Chan - Home instead.

But, really.. what's up with fun pack huh?

Actually, someone had been doing this too... just a matter if he did so by doing the legal way or not. I chose not to comment so much because I enjoy reading his blog too. LOL.

Thanks, Pam

I am glad that Pam allowed me to read her blog still, despite it is only via invitation.

I was wondering why there's no image to be seen when reading it via google reader until I went into her blog; the invitation sentences. Hence, I contacted her via twitter and.. ta dah...

To be frank, I am no fans of her, but her blog is quite interesting to read. At least better than here.

She is getting marry real soon, thus updating myself about her via the blog. Although we never meet each other or having msn, I am truly excited about her preparation. Just like during the time for mine.

Don't you find it interesting to read up about someone you been reading their blog, from single or attached to marriage.. maybe... with a kid too!

Once again, thanks Pam for permission once again.

One after another

Is it the sign or what. I had some issue from my car.

First, when I sent my car in for servicing, the guy mentioned that the fan coil is spoil and it is advisable for me to change it. But the cost is not in my favor tho; it will burn my pocket for sure; the price quote is $400.

I was told that the air con gas been pumped in, will leaked no matter what. How long it will take to stay in there depend on the hole itself. They had the meter shown to me, it kept on falling no matter how much they had it pumped in.

Now, the air con in my car is not getting cold again. This is so frustrating.

Then, recently, my car battery just died on me without any warning sign.

I had the feeling that it will died on me when I first started the car in the morning. The start up is pretty weak. Until when I want to go home from work; that's when the issue appear. It died.

Thanks to my boss, he helped me by jump start my car using his car battery.

I reflected this issue to my friend and was told to go his house for checking. Was it lucky or not, the car died again, and my friend rushed down for my rescue. After the thorough check, he determine that the battery need to change, and luckily for me... it is not alternator.

Hence, called up to KB from SHC forum. I requested to get the battery immediately with higher amp, which is recommended by my friend. KB stayed at Yishun, so he reached my house within 30min as promised.

The changing is fast and I trusted this brand a lot for a long time. Amaron.

I am glad that the car is alive once again. With higher amp, the sound system seem to sound even nicer than before. I am so happy. If only, I have the mono block for the woofer, and with the new Pioneer 4350 head unit.
To be frank, I do hope to get the focal amp for the woofer. I do not require any amp for my speaker because it is good enough already.

Is there any kind soul who want to chip in for my in car entertainment system?

Monday, June 13

Is it a blue Monday?

I am attending the course: BCSS at Absolute Kinetics.

It will be a 4 days course, concentrating the Workplace Safety and Health, risk assessment and all the importance as a role as a supervisor.

By the way, BCSS stands for Building Construction Safety Supervisor.

A break from the working area tho.

Lunch!!!
All students are given a lunch coupon instead.

Pack lunch. Lol
Of course, do not expect a fantastic lunch by them.

While home; my daughter did treat me very well. She really wanted me to change a spect, which I dreading of! Now, the money have to go out to do a new one, at least just the frame alone!

Her master piece of art!

My daughter just broke my spect

Never again, I will allow her to touch my spect. And now, I must do a second one as spare.

A trip to Air Force Show 2011 is wonderful!

Here's some photo I taken that day. I guess that a fish eye lens works pretty well for such scenario.
