My graphic went bonker

Bye ATI and Hi nVidia

After having so many issue with my PC, which caused the BSOD and such, I am quite determined that this is due to my graphic card.

Thanks to my two buddies who mentioned that my graphic card ram might be causing the main problem, and I also saw on the BSOD message that it did stated display driver etc...

Today, I went to Ban Leong and had my card check. I was hoping for one to one exchange until the nice CSO told me that it only happen for card that is not more than a year. Apparently, my card was bought on the year of 2010 Oct, so there's no chance at all.

However, I was given a choice to send this card for RMA, which is located in Taiwan. Most probably the waiting time will be 4 weeks to 6 weeks!

Oh dear, I said. I need it for work! But there's nothing they can do because there's no stock for them as well.

Taking a deep breathe and I agreed upon sending for RMA, and what they counter offer me is to rent me a card. And the CSO said that, the card is not the top notch and not suitable for doing any production stuff. Hence the new graphic card kicks in.

I definitely will sell it off once it is back in Singapore.

So, my wife and I went to Sim Lim Square. According and swear by many, we went to PC Theme and found out that, most of the card that I wanted are either too low spect than my current ATI 6870 by Powercolor, or out of stock.

Hesitating for a long time, I decided on Palit GTX 670 by nVidia. Reason being: GTX670 is consider an upgrade from my 6870, and GTX560 are consider on par or slightly below than the ATI I am holding on. The price isn't too nice either. I got it at $568 for it.



Asus and MSI GTX670 had went out of stock for 670 series, and the only left is by Palit.

ATI is definitely out for me. Accordance to the guy at Ban Leong, he said that all ATI do have issue with the error message popping out on driver had since stopped working had responded (IIRC)

Furthermore, I am quite a fans of nVidia since back then, and this time round, it is my second bad experience with that manufacturer.

Right now, I am running this graphic card, and it should looks and feel good too.

New look

If you notice some disturbing and irritating look on my blog, I apologize. This is because I am messing around with the placement and some coding which I had been pulling my hair since 3hrs ago.

I am glad that the new look seem more refreshing and easy to navigate. On top right, you noticed some icons, this allow you to clicked on it and view the network I am in. 

The down side of this blog is that, the skin seem to load quite slow. Bear with me tho. 

Reason for changing the skin is because of some irritating issue, like having my sidebar been push down and all the buttons dot seem stretched! At least for this, everything is pretty straight forward.

I hope you like it as I do.

Nevertheless, I have finished my IPT 7th training today (stating on Wednesday instead)! I will be having my IPPT test on one of the Saturday pretty soon. At last, I have cleared the IPPT for this year window.

I did improve my stamina tho! Of course I am happy, but I can't seem run non stop at 2nd round. 

Man, I have too many things to do. 

1. Processing of photos for my friend, Rick, whom asked me to shoot for polish girls at his workshop last Sunday. Thanks June for helping me out!

2. Do a new blog skin for Ongies. I am renaming it to Ongies Parenting

3. Photo shoot on some jewellery

4. Meet up a guy and stylist for discussion of shoot.

Well, well... let's see if I can finish that! I cannot believe it is May and there's no photography portfolio up! How disappointing.

I have not been snapping so frequently due to my new job and also, what make me wanna process more, edit with care and playing around is because of LightRoom3 Beta2!

You should have know about the LR3 Beta 2 recently had been release for downloading. I did watch the video tutorial as to find out the major changes from Beta.
I have not even start watching LR 2 video after all, but I am planning to do so soon.

LR 3 Beta 2 is definitely a breeze to most photographer when doing simple and easy editing of photos. More enhancing? Ps is for you. Don't blink! CS5 is gonna be out real soon, you know? I watched the preview and I was fascinated about the new tools! Repair, editing and cloning is surely brainless in future! It's true! Imagine having the Ps to work for you rather than doing the cloning on your own and as a result, getting bad cloning. Computer is smart huh? Sorry, the inventor of this tool is smarter!

With LR3 Beta2 enhance the luminance tool under noise, it does make me smile wide open! The reduce of noise is so intelligent until I can't stop saying, OH MAN THIS IS DAMN COOL!

Of course, reducing the hatred noise you seen on the photo is generally wonderful, but you must beware on how you reduce. I do love to give back some noise, add a bit of grain and with the vignetting, the result is totally awesome. Not to forget, I import to Ps for further enhancement as well.

I am looking forward for the release in future and hope it will not cost too much.
I am wondering if I can upgrade to CS5 to original package from student edition tho...



Do not be too rash
At least I know what is going on than kept thinking the reason when my mind is free.

With the moment of being too rash and not able to think of the consequences, this person ought to get some wake-up call. There's always this saying:"Do you apologize when you kill someone?"
How do one's expect to accept the apology when it is already so hurting with disappointment. With more apologising, it only make both parties even hard to face it.

Both might be wrong initially, but with proper communication, I do not see why such thing can cause such a big hoo-haa. Always believe in talk-it-out than resort some tricks that might harm someone. This scenario is not base on someone, but to all. That's why sometime I do not like to assume on certain things, because this is your own thinking, not mine, right?

History had been written and it belong to the past. Now and later on is the future. So, forget about it and move on. No one need to apologise at all, just that, you know what you need is kinda wrong tho.

I live happily and contented as well. Nothing much I can ask for.

Yes, work ethic is important, but some of the people are in the same shoe as I were previously. So-far-so-good, huh?
But, what happened when someone ran away and start to make some stupid remarks? Isn't that being very unprofessional?

She ran away without turning up at work even though she still have contract on hand.
She planned weeks beforehand until everyone got a shock of their life.
She started some stupid remarks about the place and make her client to feel that so.
She claimed she was not treated well enough when she have NICE colleagues.
She make the whole schedule so tight until the replacement hardly have time to breathe.
After she MIA from everywhere, she started to pull her contacts to her own area.
She spread rumors that is not 100% true.
She disappoint her wonderful coll whom treat her way too nice until they have phobia.

So, I ask if this professional?
By pulling your own contacts are normal, but with spreading things that is untruth, I bet this person need to wake up.

You cried for help and there are people willing to help, but you suddenly turn your body back against them? This is too ridiculous and outrageous!

I always believe in Karma. If you think you are professional in any sense, I guess that you need to look at your own moral first. IMHO, YOU have NONE.

You made people been scolded for nothing when it is not their fault at all. Now, you are enjoying and think everything will be smooth? Damn... You are way too selfish, coward and useless. BTW, you do not deserve any respect to be in THAT line!

I love my Blackberry each and everyday!

I gotta thanks my pal, whom I just knew from HWZ, for telling me so much things regarding to BB.

Before I forget, do remember to set your apps usage data to TCP/IP if you had set to your BBoM previously. At least for this case, you are utilising the BBoM of 12GB given by Singtel fully. I just got to wait and see how much I have to pay this month. I dare to say my bill will be a littler high due to changes of plan recently. Let's finger cross about the additional charges.

Blackberry OS leaked had been spread around recently. You can find the information through CrackBerry and... just in case you want to be spoon fed, HERE/THERE you go! OS 5.0.0.566!
1. Always Backup your BB first.
2. Download the program on your PC
3. Run it
4. It will prompt you to restart your PC
5. After reboot, open your Desktop Manager with your BB9700 connected to it via USB
6. DM will detect new OS found
7. Run it.
8. Approximately 10min+ of installation.
9. After installing, do a pull battery as to restart your phone.
10. Congrats! You got a new OS leaked!

OK, here's some of the review of my own. You can choose to ignore if you think it is load of bullshit. I am not a real hardcore user of BB anyway.

After pulling of battery, the loading of BB is pretty fast as compared to the past. It took about 1min tho... For non BB user, do not be stunned as the old OS take longer than that.
Button and navigation seem very responsive.
Lock your phone on the top of the left corner and you will not see anything except black image. Locking and unlocking seem a lot of faster as well.
Font size bigger.

That's what I notice about the new OS and my friend agreed as well. For new firmware of BBM, it just does not work OTA! I guessed that they might have removed it! Sigh...

Anyway, do remember to do a backup of your BBM as they provide free usage for you. Luckily for that, I am able to retrieve back my BBM contacts!

Love my BB so much now! I shall wait for the new release of BBM anytime soon!

BTW, my mister nice guy coll, Jien, introduced me one good program on how to care your system.
Advance SystemCare PRO

Find it not bad and pretty easy to use, hence I decided to share it over here. It help you to clear and fix lots of things, especially the registry part. I guess that I might buy it since the cost is not that expensive, which I really need to care for my PC also.

Here's one great site I just found through SystemCare program.
FreeNew is great because in there, you can tick what you want to be in your system and with just one click, it will automatically downloading everything for you! Just imagine, you have 20 sites to go individually for downloading and that really caused a lot of your time. And for this, it will DO everything for you! Cool huh? Try it! You never know about it!



Worst Moment - Surprised!

OMG! Guess what? Just when I blogged about my camera issue, it.... suddenly revived!

Yah... How I wish there's sponsor knocking door on my email.

Alright, I was merely testing on my charger which I firmly feel that it should not give me any issue until I had my batteries charged for 2hrs and the other one for 1 whole night. I had the batteries slot in my 5D and I saw batteries icon showing 100% full! I was overwhelmed at that time and find out that the battery I used had been charged for 2hrs... and it is showing me no error! So, the main culprit = CHARGER! The full charged indicator bluff me through!

Ok, save the money of 3.7K for Canon 5D MKII at the moment! Phew... I thought of selling it off since there's no problem already but one of my pal suggested me to leave it as spare cam... which is very TRUE and agreeable!

And the sad story begins....

I'm quite speechless right now after I realised something about this company. It led to a real disappointment.

What I'm saying here might even hit you, but I felt that it is always good to pour out and let the other people know.

I know my leaving from current company is on the eve of the CNY eve, but I am seriously quite sad that some of my best pal/coll went on leave. There's nothing I can do also because everyone need to go home and do some spring cleaning. Well, it is quite pity initially until I realise more things.

I had tendered my resignation last month on the 15th, which means my last day is on the 16th Feb. But due to CNY period and 16th Feb is holiday, my last day of work is 12th Feb, Friday (which is yesterday)

During this period of time, I see no movement from any coll to organise my farewell party. I am neither upset nor hurt, but more on disappointment. I seriously cannot believe that it turn out this way. I am not trying to compare or to say how badly I wanted the party. For goodness sake, I worked for 6 years and this is what I deserved with no actual farewell party organised by the company?

To think that my department threw a small farewell makan session by surprise. I kinda know who actually organised it as she is the only one who will care for other people feeling.

Sorry, I felt that if someone is leaving, it is better and nicer for us to approach the person first rather than the person approach us by saying good bye. I am not trying to be calculative but the proper way.

To be frank, I am always the one who approach the person, making jokes and taking photos. Now, when it come to me, who is leaving the company, I get nothing at all. Damn disappointed or not?

I really cannot believe that my boss actually mistook my last day of work. She took I am still around after CNY tho. I do know she is very busy recently, but I was wondering why and how come no one actually reminded her? I can assure you that my other coll, whom I do not want to say, told me that she cannot believe that my farewell party is not organise at all and no one inform the boss about it.

How amazing this is how I spend my last day at work. To think my wife and I prepared the gifts to everyone in the office but yet, the returns and outcome is not as I expected. I even prepared my speech to everyone but guess that it gone down to waste. How ridiculous.

But anyway, I do received an envelop containing X numbers of voucher from some of the coll. While I do appreciate that, but the whole feeling and atmosphere sure sucks big time.

Whoever is reading it now, if you are me, what kinda reaction will you give and express? I can tell you, IT FUCKING SUCKS!!! 

Reflecting back to my ex coll and interns (about 8 ex colls and 5 interns), they do have a proper and nice farewell makan session and gathering... totally disappointed and realised how unimportant I am. Anyone in this type of situation will know my feeling and thought. That's why I'm speechless when I decided to blog it out.

Any hoo, I felt that I grown up a lot from this situation. No wonder this year (Tiger Year) for Monkey will grow more mature; beside that, also for my new job and responsibilities. After blogging this before CNY, it will be in history and a day I will never forget for life.

Someone asked me a question and I was surprised that both A and B felt the same way as well, thought there will be something else for me. But yet, it's a no-no. Sorry, I do not want to reveal it out. It shall remains as secret, but all I can say is that I am not the greedy type. I am just someone who want others to appreciate me, doing work and fun + laughter. Well, it turn out negative.

Boo... to the past.

Now, welcome the Tiger Year, everything will be cool, great and interesting!

All my items had been lelong in office because some of them wanted this and that. At the very last min, I took some pic to remember as memory.

As I said before, luckily I took lot of photos when our intern finished their term. But seriously speaking, I am way too disappointed till I wouldn't want to take my camera out and start snapping with the rest of the people. Personally, it end up with no happy ending after all.

So where can I pray to "Tian Gong"?

I just received a wonderful notice by Hong Kah Town Council recently and the title stated regarding about dangerous object drop from high floor to Zero Tolerance.

While I flipped pages by pages and browse the images, (maybe I should scan the entire article for everyone to read), I do agree that some of them are potentially dangerous. Again, I did notice that some of them are Chinese praying altar. While I can agree with their explanation but shouldn't they open their eyes about us, been the Chinese devotee, praying to 'Tian Gong'? If all these are not allow, so where do you expect us to pray? Please do not just take photo about Chinese altar only when I saw there are other religion altar as well.

I am just been fair!

When you mentioned about the potential danger due to high floor littering, why not look at the corridor walkway as well? There are SOME fire hazard too! Let's look at "In the event when there's fire"

So, may I ask if there's other alternative way for us to pray instead of pointing out the hazard? Yes, I understand you have the damn RIGHTS to FINE us, but excuse me... WE want the solution!

'Tian Gong' hold the highest ranking among the other deities, thus we have to pray it first!

I'll load the whole information that mention about the high floor littering tonight...
